In the Old Testament, the Abrahamic covenant does not seem to have any conditions attached to it. The Book of Mormon, however, explains that there are actually conditions attached to the Abrahamic covenant. Christ made it clear that believing in and praying to the Lord was one thing the house of Israel would have to do to inherit the land. They would also have to travel far from their homeland to bless the nations of the earth. Because these are all things Abraham did, the Book of Mormon reminds us that the only way to receive the blessings of Abraham is to do what Abraham did.
