Abstract | One reason Christ performed miracles was that He had deep compassion for those who were suffering. Another reason Christ performed miracles was to show that He was more powerful than death. Christ also performed miracles to show that He had power of the destructive forces of nature, including disease. Another major purpose of Christ’s miracles was to show that He fulfilled prophecy and showed that He was a prophet like Moses. Jesus may even have performed miracles because He knew they would lead to His death. Finally, Christ performed miracles to remind us that He is the master of creation. |
