Abstract | Sometimes, the Book of Mormon uses the word good the way any of us might use it, but sometimes it uses it in a higher sense that means being more like God. One finds this idea in the New Testament and the Book of Mormon, and in both cases, the idea may stem from the Psalms. When understood in this light, being a good person means patterning our lives after Jesus Christ. This will allow us to become more than simply “good people” in the worldly sense. We will become more like God, who is the author of all goodness. |
