Nephi outlines his usage of Isaiah to fashion a prophetic view of earth's future. This prophetic view includes such events as (1) the coming of Christ, (2) the scattering of Israel, (3) the day of the Gentiles, and (4) the eventual restoration of the house of Israel. Stage three in this outline focuses on the role of the Gentiles in the last days in preparing the house of Israel for its redemption and restoration and includes the coming forth of the Book of Mormon to convince both Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ.
