Abstract

In Zarahemla, a “large stone” was brought to Mosiah the Elder, which engraved with the record of a man named Coriantumr, the last of the Jaredites. In 1842, the Latter-day Saints in Navuoo were excited to learn about the discovery of large engraved stones in Guatemala. Since that time, scholars have continued to learn more about the carved stelae in Mesoamerica. The more that is learned, the better Coriantumr’s stela fits within the general pattern.
