Abstract | There are associations between Lehi’s, Nephi’s, and Isaiah’s interactions with angelic beings and Nephi’s teachings about the “tongue of angels” that greatly enhance the beautiful concepts in 2 Nephi 31–32. These associations connect “speak[ing] with the tongue of angels” to joining the heavenly hosts, either literally, like Lehi, Nephi, and Isaiah, or ritually through temple worship. Latter-day Saints today believe that eventually all who are worthy will be exalted into the heavenly council as “sons of God” and speak with the tongue of angels. |
