To be a leader in the Church takes total commitment to the Lord, an understanding that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God, and a willingness to withstand the difficulties and winds of temptation. Leaders must be prepared, and preparation consists of reading, praying about, and pondering the Book of Mormon.
