Abstract | When the Book of Mormon was published, a local newspaper called it “The greatest piece of superstition that has come to our attention.” Orson Pratt observed that the book was either true or “one of the most cunning, wicked, bold, deep-laid impositions ever palmed off upon the world.” By 1937, the book was translated into sixteen languages and selling 50,000 copies a year. This should be adequate evidence of the divine nature of the book. |
