Blessings for the Righteous (57:13b–21)

The Lord

13But he who takes refuge in Me will possess the land
and will inherit My holy mountain.

Isaiah

14And He will say,

The Lord

“Build up,
build up the road[1],

prepare the way;
lift up the stumbling block from My people’s way.”

Isaiah

15For thus says the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity,
whose name is “Holy,”

The Lord

“I dwell in the high and holy place

and with the contrite and lowly in spirit,
reviving the lowly in spirit and reviving the hearts of the contrite.

16For I will not contend forever,
nor will I always be angry,

because the spirit would grow faint before Me,
and the souls that I have made.

17I was angry at the iniquity of his covetousness. I smote him, hiding, and I was angry,
but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.

18I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
I will lead him and restore comforts to him and to his mourners,

19creating the fruit of the lips.
Peace, peace, to those far and near,”

Isaiah

says the LORD,

The Lord

“and I will heal him.

20But the wicked are like the tossing sea, for it cannot be quiet,
and its waters toss up mire and dirt.
21There is no peace for the wicked,”

Isaiah

says my God.
