Abstract | This article is a response to the argument that the Book of Mormon is an “imitation of biblical dictation.” Sperry demonstrates that the Book of Mormon is an inspired translation, not simply an anthology of quotations, thoughts, or sayings of Joseph Smith, by examining various Isaianic passages in the Book of Mormon and comparing them with the Isaiah of the Septuagint, the Authorized Version, and the Hebrew text. |
