For more than fifty years, I have learned many things by regularly teaching the Book of Mormon in church and university classes and by giving hundreds of firesides and conference presentations. The following Notes distill key insights that come especially from recordings of a weekly scripture study class I taught in the Provo Utah Edgemont Stake between 2006 and 2018.

As I have relived and edited the transcriptions of those classes, I am deeply grateful to all who attended, asked questions, commented, shared, testified, and gave loving encouragement as we increasingly appreciated the amazing richness of the Book of Mormon as the word of God and of the testimony of His Son Jesus Christ. Many people have assisted in this fulfilling process. We hope that these Notes will be helpful, interesting and faith promoting to all who receive them.
